L Zone Delhi

The concept of DDA L Zone first came into existence when DDA announced Master Plan Delhi 2021. According to the plan, Delhi Development Authority proposed a new Zone L in Dwarka which is located in South West Delhi. Since Delhi is the national capital and people from all over India come to the city to seek employment and live a better life. In the next 5 -6 years around 2 million people are expected to reach in the capital, and due to this migration, a huge number of houses will be needed in future in Delhi to accommodate such a large population. Keeping this in mind, Urban Development Ministry of India and DDA has decided to develop new zones in the outer areas of Delhi. Among all the Zones, L Zone Dwarka is probably the best in terms of location and connectivity. L Zone is also set to become the first smart city in Delhi.

Land Pooling is in process in the area and once it is done DDA and other government agencies will start building basic infrastructure to improve connectivity and accessibility in the area. While creating highly modern urban centers in L Zone, DDA is also looking to preserve natural resources and maintain ecological balance of the area.

Location of L Zone

The location of L Zone is ideal for everyone; it is just a few kilometers away from south Delhi, West Delhi, Dwarka and Gurgaon. Other location advantages of Zone L are its short distance from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Dwarka Sector 21 Metro station, Dwarka expressway and upcoming AIIMS. It is also heard that DDA building largest Golf Course in the area.

Covered Area and Other Specifications of L Zone

  • Total land of 22,979 Hectares is allocated in the MPD 2021.
  • DDA has reserved 900 acres of land to build a huge water reservoir.
  • North side of L Zone is surrounded by NH-10 / Rohtak Road and Railway line.
  • In the east side, there will be Dwarka Sub-City and Zone K.
  • As far as South and West sides are concerned, the L Zone will touch National Capital Territory of Delhi boundary.
  • Delhi government has also identified a green belt along the NCT Delhi boundary.
